About Suzanne

SKE (2)

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Laguna Hills, CA, and through Telehealth, with over twenty years experience treating trauma and problem gambling. I am an EMDR trained therapist, an International and California Certified Gambling Counselor II, and an Authorized Treatment Provider and Supervisor for problem gamblers and their loved ones in the State of California. I also provide Expert Witness Testimony for cases involving disordered gambling.

I successfully treat individuals and couples, and I run a group for gamblers and their loved ones. I specialize in trauma, betrayal trauma, gambling, codependency, anxiety, depression and loss. Each of these areas has been a part of my own path at different junctures of my life. I continue to find new, more effective and efficient methods of healing.

I use a caring, direct and interactive approach. I absolutely believe in your ability to process your trauma, alleviate your emotional and physical pain, stop gambling, greatly improve your relationships, and transform your life. Together we will find new approaches and solutions to your problems – so that you can be a freer, happier, and healthier you.

I have been a Therapist, Supervisor, Trainer and Expert Witness in the problem gambling field. I have presented my work at regional and national conferences and trained medical and mental health professionals, educators and the public. I have also conducted webinars and authored professional papers on betrayal trauma, problem gambling, and loved ones of problem gamblers. Whether you have a gambling problem or are affected by the gambling problem of another, I can help. Read the relevant subsection Gambling Problems or Loved Ones of Addicts for more information.

I hold two master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Communication Studies. I serve on the Advisory Board for the California Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG), and am a member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
