EMDR / Trauma

I work extensively with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly researched and amazingly effective therapeutic approach that can greatly reduce the time of typical talk therapy. It can make a remarkable difference in your life.

I focus on facilitating freedom from disturbing physical and emotional symptoms, urges, negative beliefs and blocks in thinking and relating, created by past experiences, opening your mind to what is present and possible.

EMDR has been clinically proven to be an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood abuse, other traumas, and painful memories, complicated grief, performance anxiety and addictions. Painful experiences get “stuck” in our cells and have a lasting negative effect on our lives. EMDR helps the brain process this stuck information so that normal information processing can be resumed, allowing the person to view disturbing material in a new and less distressing way, empowering individuals to live more fulfilling and joyful lives.
